The Ukrainian industrial company INTERPIPE has supplied pump-compressor pipes with a premium UPJ-M connection for the upgrade of 39 wells of the Bilciuresti gas field in southern Romania. The project aims to increase the volume of daily production from 14 million to 20 million cubic meters of gas.
Over the past decade, Romania has consistently increased its natural gas production. In addition to developing new fields both onshore and on the shelf, the country is initiating the modernization of wells and gas pipelines and for relatively old projects. In particular, the previously mentioned Bilchuresti deposit was discovered back in 1962.
- This is the first significant volume of UPJ-M threaded pipes, which we managed to supply not only to Romania, but also to the European market as a whole. The UPJ-M premium joint design is ideal for gas production due to its high tightness and resistance to internal and external pressure. We hope that the successful descent experience will open the way for our products to other oil and gas projects in the region.
